Honed Aggregate
Ground and polished for a sleek, contemporary surface.
Honed aggregate is exposed aggregate that's been ground back and polished - the result is a smooth, low-sheen surface where you can see the natural stone but without the rougher texture. It reads as deliberately contemporary and pairs well with rendered walls, timber decking and the indoor-outdoor living spaces that dominate Perth's newer builds.
The grinding and honing process takes more time than a standard pour-and-wash finish, but the result is a surface that feels refined underfoot and photographs exceptionally well. It's a popular choice for alfresco dining areas, courtyard patios and entry paths where aesthetics matter as much as durability.
Honed aggregate is sealed after grinding, giving it good chemical and stain resistance. The low-sheen finish doesn't show footmarks or dust the way a high-gloss polish would, which makes it practical for everyday outdoor use.
